why oh why?

I enjoy doing literature homework more than I enjoy doing history homework....why oh why cruel world???
This should not be the case. Alright shall go back to writing my poem that is due on Tuesday.
I seriously don't think it will turn out good.
After which I shall attempt at rediscovering my love for history. I think Southeast Asian history is killing my love for history bit by bit. It is so utterly boring. Despite being a Southeast Asian, I hate SEA history! I know that should not be the case, but that is the freaking case!

We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. - Dead Poets Society

Yesss I do love this quote very much and wish to share it with people through whatever medium I have.
If I have the time I will dedicate a post on my love for history since this seem to be dedicated to lit.

sch sch sch

It is only the second week of school but I already feel so damn drowned in work!!! Club fair next week, presentation next week, I have to post some lit thing on blackboard by Tuesday and of course do my freaking readings!!! Yesss the readings are crazy....fine the readings have always been crazy actually. Thing is I want to do well so I have to actually read the readings but there is so much! Especially history. I have three thick stacks and that is not even half the module! Not forgetting lit where books and other readings are included....sighssss crazy crazy much!
Okay, shall stop ranting and start doing my work....
At least, I am doing something I love...that is Lit and History.

I just don't understand those people who do things they dislikes. They delude themselves with reasons to continue doing whatever it is they dislike convincing themselves that it will eventually earn them more money. If you think about it, most of us. even if we earn more money, we tend to buy things we don't really need. I guess in a way it is like a vicious cycle where you do something you dislike so as to earn more to buy things you don't really need so as to ultimately push the country's economy.

Ok! time for some irony!!!
Hahahaha went shopping and bought myself a Harajuku perfume!!!=)

small & compact XD

1st wk of school

School has started and a week has pass. Have to do better this semester if I want to go for the Global Summer Studies or instep. I have to go overseas while I still can. Problem is, I am afraid that all this enthusiasm for studying will die out as the weeks pass and I will go back into the routine of procrastinating.
Modern Asia history turned out rather interesting. Somehow Dr Wang seem better this semester than last semester. SEA history is boring...haha not surprising. SEA has like the most boring history after Africa. Not including Egypt which is in the Africa continent.
American lit was surprisingly not as boring as I thought it would be. I guess the major thing going on this semester will be Nike Run, Green Club stuff, possibly grading and of course the all important exam!!

Went to Mariam's house today. It was fun!!! Time always pass so fast when I am in great company!!! Went to City Square with my sis after coming back from Mariam's house.Bought a pair of Emporio Armani spects. They were having a discount and I got it at a rather cheap price!! Don't really like my Maybeline mascara so I switch to Majolica Majorca. Hopefully it is better. Spent alot today sighss I really need to spend less!!!
Haha a Cat bento!!
Would you eat this???
Hahaha I would definitely not....it look so gross.
Shall try my best to update this blog but now that school has started it will be harder to find the time to update.

quizzes

Was kind of bored, so I decided to take a few quizzes

Your Learning Style: Expressive and Tenacious

You love to learn about new cultures, ideas, and theories.

You Should Study:

Anthropology

Counseling

Education

Ethnic Studies

Foreign Languages and Literature

History

Literature

Music

Philosophy

Eastern Religion

Hahaha looks like I am on the right path. Nothing seem to interest me more than History and Lit. Liked the Humanities subjects ever since I was in secondary school. Too bad I am not able to do it exceptionally well now.

Teacher's Day

Received a Teacher's Day gift from my tuition kid. At least I felt this wish was real not like the one me and friends just go around wishing each other Happy Teacher's Day without really teaching anyone.

My first Teacher Day's gift!! Super happy to find chocolate inside!! Hahaha yea my favourite indeed.

More importantly, my tuition kid actually did improve a lot especially in Maths and Science. I find it easier to teach Math and Science than English...

Global Warning

Just watched a Documentary on global warming called Global Warning. It just made me emo. I can't really remember the details, but the earth alternates between hot and cold every few thousand years or so. According to calculations, the earth is suppose to be cooler now but instead temperature are rising and one of it's major contributing factor is human activities.
Despite all the campaign to encourage people to go green, not many people are doing it. Yesterday, I went to NTUC to buy some groceries and I saw many people still carrying plastic bags, I was like the only one bringing my own bag. For me what made me try my best to go green, though it may not be successful all the time, are the documentaries and photos that shows that the earth is really in danger. Unfortunately, for some people despite knowing and seeing the damaging effect global warming have on earth, they still continue on with their usual wasteful lifestyle saying that even if they were to go green, it will just be one person and that they can't possibly make a difference. I seriously hate that excuse, seriously can't this people be more mature, take the responsibility and make the effort. I am glad to say that for those of us who actually do make the effort, though we may not be successful all the time, are responsible and know we can make a difference no matter how small it is. As for those who still think they can't make a difference, I am truly sorry that you have such low esteem.

Global Warming affects nature and we, humans are part of nature.

I don't want to start sounding like a preacher here but you get the picture. So let us try our best to do whatever we can. =) I have to say for me the hardest would be to drink and not use a straw. Sometimes, using a straw is more hygienic.

Daughter of Evil -- English Subs

Remember the Vocaloid I was talking about, here are two videos of it. I found the story interesting.

First

Second

This is not the correct order of the video but I found this two to be the best so I only post this two.

*Spoiler
The second might be confusing for those who have not watched the correct order of the video. In the first video the evil princess was executed but appeared unharmed in the second video. Basically, it was her servant , who look exactly like her that took her place at the guillotine.

Geylang/ series

Went to Geylang today for the Hari Raya Bazaar. I usually go once a year to hopefully feel the Hari Raya feeling. This time my aunt and uncle came along as well. It was not a bad trip mainly because it is not that crowded. It is not as crowded as usual which might not be good for the stall owners as it just goes to show that business might not be that good? Then again today is a Thursday. The crowd will probably come pouring in on Friday and Saturday night. Heard an unpleasant comment while walking. There was this Malay guy who after seeing my aunt, uncle and mum commented that 'cheena also celebrate Hari Raya ah?' Seriously, what an unnecessary comment by a typical matt. His comment just reminded me of the many reasons why I don't bother dating matts no matter how hot he is....if that is even possible hahahahaha. More importantly this is Singapore what, you don't need to celebrate Christmas to go Orchard. Okay, bad analogy but you get it.
On another happy note, I got my favourite Ramlie (i think this is how you spell it) Burger!!! Too bad it is only here during the bazaar. Oh, and is it me or did things in the bazaar became more expensive? Drinks used to be $1 to $1.50, but now they are like $2 and other food as well...

The most tragic news of the day is.... I saw Mr Teh Tarik but I was too freaking full to even drink teh tarik!!! RAWRSSS how freaking tragic is that???? I heard about Mr Teh Tarik from Alfie i think......but I have never seen the shop before and to finally be in front of it but too full to drink...sighss..
I am so happy that CSI came and became popular which resulted in the increase in this criminal investigation sort of series. Before CSI, there used to be boring series like 90210, OC and some other chick flick sort of series. I actually even gave ugly Betty a try, thinking it would be different and interesting. Unfortunately, it was only interesting for like the first few episode then it spiral down. Truly, glad that CSI came.
So anyway, I am here to recommend this two series that I thought really good.
Because I am too lazy to actually recommend, I will just post the pictures. Lolssss

There are other similar genre series that I feel worth a watch as well. They are Bones, Missing, Lie to Me and of course CSI, CSI New York, CSI Miami.
The Mentalist is one that I have not watch but do truly wish to watch one day.
On a random note, Glee (different from the usual genre of show I watch) is surprisingly not bad in fact I do like it although first episode was blah.
